Am I correct in assuming it is not possible to upload from an I Pad as flash player is unsupported?

Yes and no. You are right about not being able to upload images from your iPad. this is however not a Flash poblem (the image upload functionality does not run on Flash). It has to do with the fact that iPads and iPhones run on iOS which doesn't have access to "files" (the window that usually opens when you upload something and that allows you to choose files from your computer). This means the standard file upload functionality on websites unfortunately doesn't work on these devices.
