S.O.L.D!!!!! MX-5 1998 Metallic Racing Bronze, 58K, Fsh. UK Car. S.O.L.D!!!!!!

Content is edited

MX-5 in Metallic Bronze, which I have owned and for 4 years, i bought it from a local lady owner who purchased it new at Magna Mazda Dealers in August 1998, covered only 58500 miles with a comprehensive Service History with all the old mot certificates & tax discs, has 2 keys plus the master key for the Mazda cat2 immobiliser (very important the dealer said).
5 spoke alloys 15", NONE of which are kerbed with 4 good tires, the rears being nearly new Toyo T1R Proxes & there are Goodyear Eagles at the front.

Driver & passenger air bags, P/steering, Mazda Locking Wheel nuts, c/locking, e/windows with drivers one touch up & down, e/aerial, glove box light, ambient dash lighting, folding wind breaker with rear speakers, new rain rail fitted, and just fitted new Discs & Pads all round, brakes bled with an annual service April 12, the cambelt was changed at 36k, good Battery and chrome door edge protectors, low insurance group (11), front & rear colour coded mudflap guards.

MOT till August 12, but I will put a new one on, Road Tax 6 months, the interior is in excellent condition, no rips scuffs marks or torn lumbar supports on the seats, the carpets & mats are still plush, and the roof although aged a little still looks lovely with full working glass demister, the bodywork is also stunning, yes there are 1 or 2 little nicks from normal road use, but they are small and i cannot see them, could not get them to show up in the pictures. The tonneau cover is mint with no rips, marks or rusty broken clasps which is common, gear gaiter and centre dash trim is finished in gloss black..

Car comes with a lovely top of the range Alpine CD/Radio model CDA-7873R, it has a full face motorised removable front panel (with Case) with AUX socket, multi changer socket, 4V amp sockets x6, auto dimmer light, plus many other features, and sounds great! It is a Lovely car, ready for the summer, and has been maintained with no expense spared; drives lovely without any of the banging you get over bumps or wobbles on the body or steering wheel. The arches, sills are solid and free of rust as is the tailgate by no plate lights, and the under-body has had annual inspections and waxoyld if needed to keep in good condition, totally gutted to loose such an enjoyable and fun drive. Price £2150.

I am only selling as I have to move home unexpectedly and the new place won't allow another vehicle and does not have a garage, which this car has had all its life!!! If you have any questions or wish to come and view the car, then please get in touch here or on my number and i will happily help as much as i can, no time wasters, no tires kickers, or texts deals, thanks for looking, viewing is highly recommended to see how clean she really is.
Price.....£2150. SOLD...£2175.

That's a great looking ride. I'm sorry you have to sell it. Being in the States, I'm not a potential buyer but I think someone is going to get a great machine at a very fair price.

I don't have much of a choice people, it was a real tough decision but.. makes so much sense right now, as painful as it is.

Saying that i have had no offers on any of the listings!!???  Or comments much, apart from a rude one here that Chris removed for the forum and for me. Is no one buying......  ??  Is it too high mileage..??  Too old..??

Well it might be staying for a bit longer, but i swear i thought now in spring was the time to sell it...

  9. RE: FOR SALE: MX-5 MK2 1998 Metallic Racing Bronze-58K £2450ovno. Optional Hard top-Cover-Hanging Brackets.

Hi, your price may be a tad optimistic according to this website.

At a dealer, expect to pay between £1,850 and £2,600
    and aim to pay £2,250.

From a private seller, expect to pay between £1,500 and £2,200
    and aim to pay £1,850.

If selling in part exchange, expect to receive £950.'

I wanted to sell my 99 1.8 for around £2500 in November 2010, but only achieved it by part chopping the car only after I took all of the bits off that I'd put on. Sold these separately, hard top, RB induction and exhaust, style bar etc and finally made a £2450. There are a lot of MK2s around and yours is at the older end of the cars. IMHO Racing Bronze is the best colour for a MK2, but I appreciate that the colours appeal is limited, well polished and in the sun there is nothing to beat it.

Also bear in mind that effectively prices have fallen, we paid the same in 2010 for a 4 year old 14000 mile 2.0 MK3 Sport as we did in 2002 for a 3 year old 30000 mile poverty spec 1.8 MK2.

    Good luck with your sale.

I checked very carefully when I bought and this year now sells about £2000 for a good one.  But some dealers are twisters and want too much especially Dandycars.
