Bose speakers

I have just ordered a MX5 Coupe Sport tech 2:0L.  It says that is has 7 bose speakers.  Can someone let me know where that are located?

Also I have heard that the sound is still very poor with the roof down - is that the case?

Thank you in advance

    Barry...

Two in each door...a centre speaker on dash top...and two in the rear 'console' between the seats.

I had Bose, in my Mk3 and never found an issue with the top down (and the 'audiopilot' worked well).

But the Bose isn't everyones favourite.

Also: never ask someone if they're from Yorkshire. If they're not, they'll be embarrassed. If they are, they'll already have told you.

I have the Bose speakers & they do sound a little 'tinny' with the roof down at speed but just putting the windows up makes a big difference.

I have the Bose system and it's the best. If you don't agree then try setting up a home made system that  sounds any where near that good.

I spent a lot of money and time upgrading the speakers and head unit in my Ford Focus and it just can't match the thumping bass and calrity of the MX-5 system.  With the top down it's still very good.

Here is a link to the UK Bose website. You can download the MX-5 pdf-document showing all part locations:

    http://www.bose.co.uk/GB/en/automotive-systems/automotive-systems/current-models/mazda.jsp

I wasn´t satisfied with the Bose sound result in my MK3:

The woofer speakers rattled and slobberd with increased volume level and there were´t enough bass and good balanced heights coming out of the tweeters in my opionion.

Swapped the Bose front door speakers with Clearwater (B) Upgrade loudspeakers from the US, put a lot of insulation at the inner door metal panel, finally added a double DIN Pioneer AVH-P4300 DVD radio unit with internal equalizer and other sound tunings and a steering wheel control + Bose amplifier adapter.

Now I´m very satisfied with the sound and it´s like a day and night difference...in my opion, despite the staying digital Bose amplifier. No homelike high-end surround cinema sound, but very much better than before, as with open roof. Thumbs up

But the new Bose system for the MK3.5 was improved by Bose/Mazda and should sound better than the old one for/inside the MK3...I suppose.

    Hi,

I've got the Bose system in my RC, and I love it!  Even with the road down, turn up the volume and I get clear (loud) good quality sound.  Very impressed with it.

Mine sounds great roof up or down with cd's but with radio stations a bit tinny if signal is weak
