What happened to Vulcan XH558 this year?

I've just responded to a comment of Jo's (Vo5JO) and thought there might be others out there who were dissapointed at missing a display of the only flying Avro Vulcan - XH558 - This year.

Despite a tremendously successful display season there was a lot of focus on the 4 weeks that she was unserviceable.

There is an incredibly detailed, but very interesting, article about this period at http://www.vulcantothesky.org/history/articles-of-interest/barry-s-blog/blog-8.html

I did see it at Fairford - fan-b***y-tastic, and so elegant!

I was at Fairford as well, working in the Vulcan Village as one of the volunteers. We probably met and didn't know it !
